About the Role

The Company is seeking a Senior Counsel with a strong background in commercial law to join their dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will be a deal lawyer, negotiator, and lifelong learner, who can serve as a trusted advisor and problem solver. This role involves independently drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial agreements, particularly master subscription and data processing agreements with enterprise customers. The successful candidate will work closely with the Sales organization, as well as with Compliance, Security, Product, and other stakeholders, to ensure alignment between contracts, products, and operations. Additionally, the role includes mentoring other team members and contributing to the development of legal tools and resources.Candidates should have a BA/BS and JD from respected institutions, be a member of the California, New York, or other applicable bar in good standing, and have at least 8 years of legal experience, with a focus on commercial transactions. A minimum of 4 years of in-house experience is required, with a proven track record of supporting revenue-generating commercial transactions. Experience in privacy and data security issues relevant to SaaS, and a deep understanding of the technology space, are essential. The role demands strong communication, analytical skills, and attention to detail, as well as the ability to work independently and with colleagues in different locations. Experience in channel sales for enterprise SaaS, negotiations in regulated industries, and a curiosity about technology are all highly valued.
