About the Role

The Company is seeking a Senior Counsel with a focus on transactions to join its Legal Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for drafting, negotiating, and managing a diverse range of complex contracts typical for a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company. This includes agreements with clinical research organizations, contract manufacturing organizations, suppliers, vendors, clinical trial sites, and consultants. The role also involves providing legal advice on contract interpretations, dispute resolutions, and other legal issues related to the development of cell therapy product candidates. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 8-10 years of experience in transactional law within the biotech/pharma industry, with a strong preference for in-house experience. A JD degree from an ABA-accredited law school and admission to practice law in the State of California are required.Applicants must demonstrate the ability to quickly grasp scientific and technical concepts, possess excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills, and have a proven track record of leading contract processes from drafting to execution. The role demands a high level of professionalism, the ability to work independently, and to balance competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. The candidate should be highly organized, detail-oriented, and have a creative, entrepreneurial approach to problem-solving. Commercial agreement and compliance expertise are considered a plus, and the individual should be dedicated to quality, reliability, and the highest professional standards in all matters.
