SENIOR ACCOUNTANT
Are you looking for a growth opportunity? If so, our search firm has partnered with a fast-growing, entrepreneurial company to assist in their search for a Senior Accountant to join their Finance team.
The person hired will be a natural problem-solver who is independent, coachable, detail-oriented, and continually seeks process improvements.
Our client's hybrid model offers a healthy mix of working in person and remotely, strengthening key elements of the company’s culture by fostering collaboration and community.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and year end accounting close activities
- Process/record daily cash transactions and update cash forecast accordingly
- Perform account reconciliations on various general ledger accounts and use problem solving skills to research and remediate any reconciling differences
- Oversee month-end close of assigned subledgers (i.e., Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Inventory)
- Assist, as needed, with AP. AR, and Payroll
- Perform monthly account analysis, research variances, and communicate insights with leadership
- Use GAAP accounting expertise to serve on cross-functional project teams to provide accounting guidance for various projects and new initiatives across the business
- Evaluate current processes and procedures and recommend changes
- Perform ad-hoc projects, tasks, and analysis to help support decisions, resolve issues, or support various business needs
- Participate in the annual financial statement audit by preparing requested workpapers/schedules
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with concentration in Accounting; Bachelor’s degree with concentration in Finance with 15 hours of accounting credits; or Associate’s degree with concentration in Accounting and 8 years of relevant work experience
- Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting experience with solid understanding of general ledger and financial statements
- Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Excel, and Word
- Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, communication and collaboration skills
- Detail oriented with history of consistently meeting deadlines
