Confidential is Hiring a Procurement Agent Near Marion, VA

Summary/Purpose: This position is responsible for the day to day purchasing of all requisition items for the manufacturing facility.

Essential Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to meet all the essential responsibilities and perform each essential job duty satisfactorily.

Safety

The employee must follow all company safety rules and processes, and use proper ergonomics. Always wears the proper PPE, clothing and footwear. Adheres at all times to the Entanglement policy. The employee must always be aware of their work environment, equipment and the potential hazards. Owns daily cleanliness of work area. Maintains area orderly, clean and free from hazards. It is the responsibility of the employee to work within their physical limitations and not cause unnecessary injury to their self or others.

Attendance

The employee is expected to be at their workstation/area at the start of the assigned shift. On time, regular and consistent attendance is a requirement of the job.

Safety:

· Perform general housekeeping keeping work area clean and neat. Complying to all PPE requirements when in plant production area’s

· Request SDS sheet and have on file for any chemicals purchased

Customer focus:

· Assist maintenance and production personal as needed to provide good customer service and expedited support.

· Assist MRO Buyer and Purchasing Manager when needed.

Communication:

· Ability to communicate with customers, suppliers, co-workers and business contacts in a courteous and professional manner, verbally and written.

Administrative:

· Attain signature approval on all requisitions from an authorized agent before issuing a purchase order.

· Process all plant requisitions for the replenishment of repair parts and supply materials.

· Maintain accurate software information in SAP program. ( Accurate information is essential )

  • Resolve purchase order or receiving issues utilizing SAP Opentext program.

· Manage inventory for packaging supplies, such as banding, stretch film, dunnage, packaging boxes, load covers, etc.

· Attach all requisitions, confirmations, acknowledgements, and miscellaneous back up documentation to all purchase orders.

· Utilize and maintain non-material purchasing info-records.

· Manage vendor consigned inventory, and maintain accurate record keeping and backup information.

· Perform monthly month end physical inventory for supplies inventory stored in the plant production area.

· Maintain a cost savings metrics spreadsheet for requisitioned materials.

Procurement:

· Perform MRO Buyer duties in his or her absence.

· Perform Purchasing Managers duties in his/her her absence.

· Basic knowledge of items to be purchased.

· Procure maintenance and repair item’s needed in maintaining efficient operation of plant.

· Responsible for competitive purchasing of requisition items by comparative pricing, checking availability and potential cost savings to assure obtaining a quality product at the lowest possible cost.

· Acquire parts locally when needed.

Sense of Urgency:

· Expedite parts and supplies that are not readily available.

· Self-motivated.

Quality of work:

· Input of accurate data in SAP is essential.

· Ability to pay close attention to detail and coordinate various activities simultaneously.

· Excellent organizational and problem solving skills.

Project Management:

· Fill in for storeroom / receiving clerk when needed.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

Other (and/or):

· Process all fabrication and engineering requisitions for materials and supplies needed for their day to day needs and current projects.

· Maintain close communications with production, engineering, and fabrication shop, providing, status and updates of procurement and pricing of materials.

· Manage and maintain assigned purchased BOM materials to maintain a constant supply without disrupting the progress of production orders

· Maintain close communications regarding pricing fluctuation, and status updates of key BOM components with management team.

· Establish and maintain MRP reorder values utilizing SAP forecasting data.

· Ensure and track efficient inventory turn data.

· Negotiate pricing and delivery of materials.

Education and/or Experience

· High School Diploma/G.E.D and equivalent college degree experience in purchasing

· Knowledge of inventory control

· Basic shipping and receiving knowledge

· Must have a valid driver’s license

· Must have clean DMV record

Equipment/Software:

· Intermediate skill level: computer software, including Excel, SAP, Microsoft Office.

· Intermediate skill level: operating various types of office equipment. Such as, personal computer, printer, scanner, telephone, facsimile, copy machine.

· SharePoint Preferred.

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described are representative of those an employee encounter while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to:

· Moving mechanical parts, machines, and vehicles

· The purchasing environment is small and the employee must be able to work in close proximity with other co-workers.

· The manufacturing environment noise level is generally loud and must wear proper PPE.

· Employees are regularly exposed to drafts, fumes, airborne particles, and extreme hot and cold temperatures.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:

· Read reports, and use computer(fingers: feel, reach, grip, type) 75-100% of work day

· Drive company vehicle as needed 25% of the work day

· Hearing: must be able to hear clearly all verbal communication, sounds, and horns, 100% of the work day

· Mobility: Stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle and grip, feel and reach with hands and arms, stoop, twist, and bend 20% of their work schedule

· The employee is frequently required to clearly communicate written and verbally 100% of the work day

· The employee must be able to lift up to 50lbs occasionally, and/or up to 25lbs frequently, between ground and shoulder level during their daily work schedule

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
