Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Patient Services Representative. As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a positive experience for all.
Duties:
- Greet and check-in patients upon arrival, ensuring accurate demographic and insurance information is obtained
- Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar using medical scheduling systems
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries in a professional and timely manner
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for procedures
- Collect patient payments, process insurance claims, and provide accurate billing information
- Maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents
- Coordinate referrals to specialists and follow up on patient care as needed
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably as a dental receptionist or in a dental office
- Familiarity with medical terminology and office systems (Eaglesoft experience is a plus)
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle difficult situations professionally
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Proficient computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
