Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Logistics / Materials Manager to join our team. As the Logistics / Materials Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the supply chain, warehouse operations, and materials management processes. Your role will involve production planning, procurement, inventory control, and supplier management to ensure efficient and effective operations.
Duties:
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize the supply chain process, including procurement, production planning, and inventory control
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast demand and plan production schedules
- Monitor inventory levels and implement strategies to minimize stockouts and excess inventory
- Oversee the procurement process, including sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and managing supplier relationships
- Ensure timely delivery of materials to support production schedules
- Implement systems and processes to track materials from receipt to consumption
- Collaborate with internal teams to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing principles
- Manage warehouse operations, including layout optimization, space utilization, and safety protocols
- Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure performance and identify areas for improvement
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field along with 5 years experience
- Proven experience in materials management or a similar role within a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices
- Experience with production planning and scheduling
- Proficiency in procurement processes, including supplier selection and contract negotiation
- Familiarity with inventory control techniques and systems
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions
- Strong leadership abilities with the capacity to manage cross-functional teams
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with internal stakeholders and external suppliers
