Confidential is Hiring a Laboratory Technician Near Knoxville, TN

Summary:

Performs laboratory experiments under direct supervision, as well as performs routine general laboratory maintenance and daily operations. Temporary position could possibly become full time.

Responsibilities:

  • Follow lab standard operating procedures (SOP’s) and methods.
  • Record and interpret data as it pertains to ongoing experiments.
  • Operate laboratory equipment and instrumentation such as mills, furnaces, freezers, balances, mixers, microscopes, etc.
  • Cleans and maintains all equipment and instrumentation.
  • Able to work safely with compressed gases, cryogenic fluids, fine inorganic powders, and solvents.
  • Able to wear the appropriate PPE when required, including gloves, dust mask/respirator, safety glasses/goggles
  • Capable of working in an inorganic materials R&D laboratory environment

Education / Experience:

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school is preferred, but not required;
  • At least one year of experience in a general laboratory setting is preferred.

Additional Skills:

  • Excellent communication/interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and make recommendations.
  • Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
