Plastics trading company in Rye Brook, New York Is seeking an individual who will be an integral part of our logistics department. This role will contribute to the overall objective of increasing our company’s competitive position. This function will work closely with suppliers and customers to provide clear communication for delivery timing and working through issues. There will be significant engagement with customs brokers and shipping companies.
Manage import/export process to ensure compliance with shipment paperwork and import/export customs requirements.
Prepare and review all necessary shipping documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, bills of lading and shipping instructions.
Track and monitor the progress of shipments to ensure on-time delivery and provide timely updates to relevant parties.
Preparation of documentation for submission under Letters of Credit.
Qualifications
· A college degree is preferred, but industry experience will be considered.
· Strong understanding of international trade, customs procedures, and documentation requirements.
· Microsoft Office 365.
· Spanish speaking is required.
· Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
· Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
· Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and record keeping.
