Position Summary:
The Food Service Director will coordinate the food service program in keeping with nutritional guidelines, The Lodge at Stephens Lake policies & procedures, state regulations, and the food service budget. The Food Service Director will order and prepare food, supervise dining services, coordinate food service for special events and activities, maintain food inventory, maintain regulatory compliance, and direct food service employees. The Food Service Director is a member of the management team.
Qualifications:
1. High School Diploma or GED required.
2. Minimum of one-year dietary experience as a in a long-term care setting preferred.
3. SERV Safe Certification required
4. Supervisory or management experience preferred.
5. Desire to work with older adults.
6. Ability to read, write, and speak English.
7. Requires satisfactory completion of drug, background, and medical screening.
8. Must be able recognize and handle emergency situations
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Providing our Residents with superior restaurant-quality meals and desserts
2. Active role in the creation, preparation, and presentation of resident’s meals
3. Plan weekly menus in accordance with Veritas Senior Living policies and procedures incorporating a variety of nutritional foods and utilizing in season products.
4. Maintain an adequate inventory of foods and supplies from residence-approved vendors.
5. Responsible for maintaining dietary operations to meet the monthly food, supplies, and wage budgets
6. Responsible for maintaining and documenting proper/hygienic food handling techniques and the overall sanitation requirements set forth by the local Health Department
7. Responsible for setting up food and supplies for special events
8. Encourage residents to participate in the food service program and provide a forum for their input.
Regulatory Compliance and Sanitation
1. Ensure compliance with local health department regulations and the Veritas Senior Living policies and procedures.
2. Maintain Food Safety Manager Certificate.
3. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment.
4. Ensure proper storage and handling of food in accordance with infection control standards.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
