NH Peace Action Education Fund is Hiring an Executive Director Near Concord, NH

New Hampshire Peace Action (NHPA) seeks a full time director to oversee and implement our work, including organizing, building membership, raising funds, educational programming, lobbying, administration, and implementing strategic goals. The director is hired by and reports to the Boards of Directors.

NHPA is a non-profit membership organization that works to build a more peaceful and just future for all. Since its founding 41 years ago NHPA has worked to shift spending from the Pentagon to fund human needs, address US foreign policy issues, and reduce the threats posed by nuclear weapons.

The ED is responsible for all activities and finances of NHPA, working together with the Board and a part-time administrator to fulfill the mission of both 501c3 and 501c4 organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop strategic campaigns and oversee preparedness for public education, demonstrations, actions, and response.
  • Maintain relationships with organizations, congressional staff, and national Peace Action.
  • Maintain relationships with members, donors, and institutional funders.
  • Track legislation and develop legislative priorities to move elected officials to desired positions in collaboration with national Peace Action and other groups.
  • Maintain and expand membership base through multiple strategies.
  • Serve as ex-officio member of the board and provide support to board committees.
  • Oversee financial health of organization; develop budget with board support; manage accounts and oversee day-to-day expenses with support of bookkeeper.
  • Plan and implement development activities with the board fundraising committee, to include donor stewardship, grant writing, appeals, and events.
  • Comply with legal and fiduciary requirements for 501c3 and 501c4 organizations.
  • Understand and articulate current US foreign policy, Pentagon spending, and nuclear weapons policy and speak to change needed to build a peaceful future.
  • Travel throughout NH and occasionally in the eastern US for lobbying and outreach.
  • Represent NHPA to promote peace and a just US foreign policy, sustain outreach, publicity, and media relations efforts, and host programs.

NHPA offers you:

  • Flexible schedule 32-35 hour week. Ability to work remotely as well as in our office.
  • Flexible paid time off - 4 to 6 weeks, plus paid holidays.
  • Salary: $45,500-$58,000.
