About the Role

The Executive Director of Communications and Marketing is a pivotal role that involves leading the development of marketing and communications strategies for the academic medical center. This individual serves as the primary interface between the Marketing and Communications Department and the executive, operational, and clinical leaders at the center, and is a key strategic partner in supporting the center's business goals. The role includes building strategic relationships with the center's leadership, identifying business challenges and opportunities, and developing strategic marketing and communications plans to support client priorities. The Executive Director also oversees the timely support of client needs by the marketing and communications teams, ensures performance analysis and reporting for campaigns, and manages budgets.Candidates for this position must have a Bachelor's degree in marketing/communications, business administration, or a related field, with a Master's degree strongly preferred. More than 12 years' of related work experience in healthcare or a related field is required, with leadership experience in large integrated systems and/or academic medical centers strongly preferred. The role demands strong interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to set vision and direction, and make decisions with broad implications. Experience in managing marketing and communications resources and addressing complex problems is essential, as is the ability to engage with multiple functional areas and manage a team. Advanced skills in Microsoft applications and a proven track record in market research, analysis, and problem-solving are also preferred.
