Automotive General Manager

Earn $150,000 to $175,000 per year!(based on experience)

$ SALARY COMMISSION$

*5 yrs Experience as a General Manager or 8 yrs as a General Sales Manager is REQUIRED*

A leading family owned dealer with multiple locations is seeking an experienced and motivated leader, coach, and full team player in dealership operations. We are seeking a General Manager who is process-oriented and goal-driven, with a minimum of 5 years in an independent or franchise dealer GM role or 8 years as a GSM.

The ability to execute daily operations to GROW the business & a thorough understanding of Fixed Operations is REQUIRED. If you possess strong leadership and management skills with proven success in dealership operations and you are seeking an opportunity to advance your career, please apply.

*Independent Dealer Experience is a PLUS*

*Willingness to Travel between stores, as needed, within a 80-100 mile radius*

Requirements:

  • 5 yrs General Manager/Executive Manager Experience required OR 8 yrs General Sales Manager Experience with extensive knowledge of dealership operations
  • Well-rounded dealership management experience (Management, Sales, Finance, Inventory, Advertising, Service Operations)
  • Stable employment history with a proven track record in automotive sales and management
  • Positive attitude to work with customers and team members
  • Excellent communication
  • Great people skills
  • Financial management, analysis & budgeting experience
  • Good organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Motivated to achieve individual goals as well as motivate & lead the team to achieve goals
  • Ability to coach and train personnel to maximize every lead opportunity

  • Energetic, forward-thinking, process-oriented & goal driven

Responsibilities Include:

  • Hiring, training and motivating all dealership department managers.
  • Directing and monitoring all dealership management or supervisory personnel functions and completing formal performance evaluations of all department managers at regularly scheduled intervals.
  • Meeting with the owner and comptroller/office manager monthly to review departmental forecasts for consistency with the annual forecast.
  • Meeting with managers individually to develop monthly and annual goals and objectives, and to review actual performance.
  • Providing the owner with accurate weekly reports on the financial condition of the business.
  • Developing and maintaining a good working relationship with lending institutions.
  • Providing enthusiastic leadership to help shape employees' attitudes and build morale.
  • Holding regularly scheduled managers meetings to ensure that every department is operating efficiently and profitably.
  • Reviewing and approving compensation plans for all employees.
  • Coordinating with the business office to ensure that records and analyses are maintained accurately.
  • Developing merchandising strategies and assists in creating effective, cost-efficient advertising programs.
  • Resolving any customer complaints that department managers are unable to rectify.
