Concrete Industries is Hiring a Concrete Production Laborer Near Lincoln, NE


Description:Concrete Industries, Inc., a subsidiary of NEBCO, Inc. (“Company”), needs 6 temporary Concrete Production Laborers from 04/01/2024 – 11/30/2024 for work in Lincoln, Nebraska. Work is full-time; Monday – Friday; 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; at least 45 hrs/week; Company uses a single workweek as the standard for computing wages due; workers paid every week. Pay is $27.78/hr with applicable benefits. Workers are eligible for overtime pay of $41.67/hr, equal to one and one-half times the regular hourly rate for all hours over 40 in a given workweek, which may be available based on weather conditions and business needs (historic average is approximately 11 hours per week in peak of busy season). If requested by workers, Company will assist with securing adequate housing for the temporary season plus utilities in employer-owned and/or employer-rented housing at a rate of approximately $200.00 per person per pay period. Company will make all deductions from the worker’s paycheck required by law, plus $200.00 per person per pay period for housing expenses for employees who choose them. Company will also provide a $100.00 advance, which will be deducted from future paychecks.

Job duties include the following: Supports general construction labor activity related to the production of various concrete products, the fabrication of the reinforcing members and the repair and storage of finished products. May support skilled trade workers (such as masons) with general construction labor tasks consistent with the duties below:

Clean, install and remove metal and wooden concrete forms. Prepare, carry and place concrete reinforcing components. Place and finish concrete in forms using shovels, screeds, vibrators, floats, trowels and other appropriate tools. Clean work areas and equipment using shovels, vacuums, wheelbarrows, solvents, petroleum based products and other appropriate material. Be proficient in the use of small hand and power tools such as hammers, chisels, pliers, grinders, impact wrenches, saws, trowels, etc. and utilize such skills to perform tasks in assisting skilled trade workers with installation and removal of metal and wooden concrete forms and finishing of concrete panels. With adequate training, general laborers will operate other tools to assist in the preparation and placing of concrete reinforcing components such as cutting torches, stressing jacks, pipe tipper, etc. Mix, place and finish concrete patch mixes used to repair finished products. Assist in assuring a safe, clean yard environment. Assure team approach to safety standards. As required, clean and sanitize restrooms/bathrooms using established practices and procedure. Abide by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely.

Company will provide all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job to workers at no charge. The costs of transportation (including subsistence and, to the extent necessary, lodging) from the place of recruitment to the place of employment will be reimbursed upon arrival (subject to repayment to Company if the workers do not complete at least one-half of the employment period). Company will reimburse H-2B workers in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government, that are actually incurred by the workers (other than those fees primarily for the benefit of the workers). Upon completion of the work contract or where a worker is dismissed earlier, Company will provide or pay for the worker’s reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker’s voluntary abandonment of employment. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $15.46/day during travel to a maximum of $59.00/day with receipts. Company guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period.
