THE JOB

Concrete Laborers are the front line of our company and contribute daily to the success of everything we do. These critical employees must be driven, motivated, focused, and proud of their contributions to our Team.

• The Work. Including flatwork, foundations – square and round, footings, sidewalks, elevator towers, silos, and many more applications, we are ready for whatever our customers need.
• Work with the Team. Together we complete a project we can be proud of. Be willing to listen and learn, not only from superintendents, project engineers and project managers, but your co-workers as well. We are only as good as our least skilled worker.
• Live and breathe safety. We go home to our families in the same condition we left our families every day.
• Support the Team. Come to work as scheduled, be on time, ready to work, and be consistent. This includes having your tools, and facing whatever the day may bring with a positive, get it done attitude.
• Have the ability to travel. Most often our teams travel weekly, going out on Sunday night or Monday and home at the end of the week. We work throughout the greater Mid-West area; travel schedules may change based on job location.

THE KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL

Skilled Concrete Laborers with CL Construction generally come to us with 2 – 3 years of concrete experience including the tools, processes, and trade.

• Tools & Processes. Know how to read a tape measure and level, understand the order of processes and what tools you use along the way.
• Be physically capable. Concrete Laborers at CL Construction are no exception. Lifting 50lbs – sometimes up to 100lbs, flexibility to move as needed and the ability to use both hands and fingers is necessary in this role.
• Understand the importance of what we do. Our contributions to the agricultural sector of our economy are critical to its sustainability.
• Weather and Environment. We work year-round in all types of weather, be prepared. Our environments vary based on the work and can include noise, dust and working from heights requiring a harness.
• Must be at least 18 years of age, and authorized to work in the U.S.

THE PAY

Individual experiences and qualifications will impact the starting pay. The ability to advance is available to those willing to work hard, learn and master the necessary skills.

• The standard pay range for skilled concrete laborers is $22 - $26/hour
• Overnight per diem is paid when traveling - $32/day **all travel and lodging paid by the company**
• Exceptional qualifications and experience may increase starting pay.
