Concordia Visiting Nurses is seeking a Human Resources Assistant to help support the HR team. This is a full-time position at our Cabot office.
The Human Resources Assistant will perform a myriad of clerical tasks associated with supporting the agency’s Human Resources (HR) team. As a member of this team, the Human Resources Assistant will execute reference checks, background screenings, and tasks associated with the onboarding of job applicants and newly hired employees. Further the position is responsible supporting compliance-related tasks such maintaining personnel files and performing audits of employees’ professional credentials.

QUALIFICATIONS for the Human Resources Assistant position:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Proficient with various software programs including the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills that include an adaptability to handle multiple tasks and interruptions. Must be able to meet deadlines.
  • Outstanding communication skills so that a positive and professional image is conveyed to employees and to external stakeholders (e.g., job applicants, professional references, etc…).
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES for the Human Resources Assistant position:
  • Partners with the Human Resources – Recruiter position to perform professional reference and background checks. Schedules and communicates pre-employment physical, drug screening, and tuberculosis (TB) testing requirements with newly hired employees.
  • Creates and organizes the welcome and training packet for new hires in advance of the employee(s) first day of employment.
  • Participates in the first day of employment training class for all new hires. Responsible for organizing each new employee’s documentation for data entry and to build the new employee’s personnel file.
  • Reviews and communicates all compliance-related items to each respective employee. This includes, but is not limited to, professional license renewal, CPR certification renewal, annual TB screening, drivers’ license checks, and criminal record reporting.
  • Schedules and organizes the monthly CPR training classes at the Middlesex Township (Valencia, PA) office.
  • Maintains personnel files housed in the Cabot, PA office.
  • Performs exit interviews, as needed
