We are looking for a Food Service General Manager to join and help lead our dietary team here at Concordia of Sumner! This a full-time, management level position with an excellent team and strong organization dedicated to caring for our aging community of Ohio.

Food Service General Manager Responsibilities Include:

• Provide job-specific training for dietary staff including cooks and servers
• Make sure all employees receive a high-quality orientation process
• Maintain organized, documented training records
• Prepare menus in conjunction with the dieticians that meet regulatory, nutritional, and resident/patient preferences
• Work with dieticians to enhance various menu selections
• Analyze production systems to ensure product availability
• Teach employees and residents different recipes and cooking procedures
• Conduct quality monitoring including food tasting and test trays
• Evaluate cooks and prep staff performance to make sure quality, compliance, safety, and customer service standards are being met
• Provide input to the Executive Director and participates in staff evaluations
• Attends staff and resident counsel meetings to identify menu preferences
• Incorporates resident/patient input into menus
• Participates in special events such as Oktober Fest, Annual Meeting, Golf Outing, holiday meals, parties, board meeting catering, etc.

Qualifications for Food Service General Manager:

• Culinary certification
• Experience working in a skilled nursing/assisted living facility
• Excellent customer service skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong management skills such as development of employees and scheduling
