Compassion wants you to join our growing team of compassionate and dedicated DSP’s (Direct Support Professionals) to provide support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to enable them to live and participate in their community, enjoy their favorite activities and increase their skills for greater independence.

Direct Support Professionals provide valuable, supportive care in a quality-based, motivating environment. An essential element of this job is to convey steady encouragement to ensure the growth of skills for daily living; this includes establishing high-quality relationships. DSP’s develop skills and abilities to remain calm during demanding situations, while ensuring the maintenance of a healthy and safe environment.

You will use your creativity, positive attitude and people skills to develop meaningful relationships with the individuals you serve, their families and/or other important people in their life in a team environment.

• Provide personal caregiving services in accordance with an established plan of direct care
• Participates in recreational, educational and social activities that meet participant’s physical, intellectual and social needs
• Provide life skills training
• Assist participants with activities of daily living
• Offer compassionate companionship to participants
