Community Health System is Hiring a Regional Scheduling Specialist Near Franklin, TN

Summary:

Regional Scheduling Specialists obtain clinician availability each month and prepare complete hospital schedules in a timely fashion. For those schedules that are Director written, the Scheduling Specialist provides support to that Director per guidelines. Schedules must all be entered into the company database and distributed to the appropriate staff, clinicians and hospital personnel. They must fill all open shifts and emergency openings as they arise. Scheduling Specialists must also reconcile and track clinician work hours and additional compensation for all clinicians. They must also maintain proper contracted hours and contracted rate within system for proper reporting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Compose or support a standard number of hospital schedules based on the region workload. Writing schedules, filling opens, publishing schedules timely, maintaining scheduling software for accuracy
  • Support Medical Director at site-scheduled contracts as needed-
  • Build strong relationships with clinicians, by communicating via phone, text and email to understand their needs and fill schedules at rate, educating clinicians on scheduling protocols and guidelines. This includes monitoring all forms of communication as needed to ensure call offs are addressed, as well as any other emergencies
  • Coordinate proper provider orientation and shadowing per guidelines, ensuring credentials and enrollment are complete and provider is ready to start at the facility
  • Reconcile clinician hours each month via scheduling software and submit reports to payroll department, work with payroll to ensure accurate payment
  • Identify and report facility recruitment levels, continually update reports such as Have vs Needs to ensure Recruiting has real time information. Tracks and monitor performance metrics, financials, and assists management in compiling reports as needed.
  • Work with Scheduling team to fill opens, brainstorm ways to fill opens at rate, provide fellow Scheduler with support filling shifts
  • Works with providers and leadership to reduce increased compensation and facility spend to maintain budget
  • Build relationships with other APP departments, such as, but not limited to, Credentialing, Recruiting, Enrollment
  • Provide flexible hours as needed to support Directors, RVPs, and Facilities assigned

Education:

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

Experience:

  • Ability to deliver high level customer service in a complex and fast paced environment required.
  • Prefer two years Physician and Advanced Practice Provider scheduling experience (or relevant scheduling experience such as surgical or patient)
  • Basic computer skills.
