POSITION TITLE: Chief Clinical Officer

CLASSIFICATION: Exempt/Salary

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Full Time

SUPERVISOR: Executive Director

SUPERVISORY DUTIES: Physicians and Nurse Practitioners

FUNCTION: Responsible for the medical services provided at CHCGD

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  1. Establish guidelines for the medical care delivery by all providers
  2. Directly supervises the quality of medical care provided by providers.
  3. Maintains own panel of patients.
  4. Develops and conducts monthly provider meetings.
  5. Serves as Chair of the Quality Assurance Committee
  6. Participates in provider recruitment in coordination with the Executive Director and Human Resources.
  7. Participates in administrative activities in coordination with the Executive Director
  8. Provides input to Executive Director on annual performance appraisals for all providers.
  9. Provides/Coordinates evening and weekend coverage for patients on a rotational basis.
  10. Participates in representing CHCGD as Chief Clinical Officer as deemed necessary by the Executive Director.
  11. Serves as the PCMH Transformation and Clinical Lead – setting the tone for how the practice will function as a medical home and ensuring that the practice has clinical and operational support and resources to implement the PCMH model.
  12. Establishes and maintains professional working relationship with all members of the health care team.
  13. Demonstrates effective communication skills.
  14. Participates in planning and problem solving, within the management team structure.
  15. Participates in continuing education and professional growth
  16. Provides leadership and encourages provider participation at regularly scheduled meetings.
  17. Develops and executes peer review activities in conjunction with providers.
  18. Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, personnel and medical policies and procedures.
  19. Provides leadership for compliance with regulatory requirements and applicable federal, state, and local laws.
  20. Provides leadership in evaluating and improving daily operations such as patient flow, scheduling and access to improve patient satisfaction.
  21. Serves as role model for clinical staff
  22. Has direct authority over lab services
  23. Provides budgetary guidance on purchases of medical equipment and supplies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Board certified physician with 5 years’ experience in patient care. Must hold a current unrestricted medical license in the state of Ohio. Previous FQHC experience helpful.
  2. Graduate of an accredited school of medicine; completion of a residency program in a primary care area such as Internal Medicine, Family Practice, or Pediatrics.
  3. Current DEA certificate
  4. Current hospital admitting privileges and credentials.
  5. Current insurance privileges and credentials (Medicare, Medicaid and commercial insurances.)
  6. Current BLS Certification.
  7. Excellent working knowledge of EMR systems, especially creating reports. NextGen preferred.
  8. Previous experience with residency programs helpful.
