POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of the Nursing Education Program (DNEP) at CCA is responsible for providing vision, direction, and oversight of the future AAS Registered Nurse (RN) Program. The Director of Nursing will be responsible for the Colorado State Board of Nursing Application and achieving accreditation through the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) within a decided timeframe.
The Nursing Director is responsible for helping to develop, implement, and monitor growth plans for the nursing program, to enhance the use of simulation through the nursing program, and to implement the College's program to ensure student success in the areas of persistence, retention, and completion.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensuring and documenting the Nursing Education Programs compliance with the Nurse Practice Act and the Board of Nursing's Rules and Regulations.
  • Developing and maintaining the relationship between the Nursing Education Program and the Governing Body.
  • Participate in the budget planning process and the Nursing Education Program budget.
  • Recruiting, selecting, and evaluating of Nursing Faculty.
  • Act as liaison to the Board of Nursing, community health partners, and accreditation bodies.
  • Develop and coordinate the use of educational facilities and clinical resources.
  • Lead program funding and grant efforts.
  • Curriculum development of required nursing courses.
  • Establish and maintain clinical sites for the RN program.
  • Coordinate nursing student recruitment efforts in collaboration with student services departments.
  • In collaboration with the Department Chair, provide oversight for the nursing application process, ensuring admission standards are evidence based, meet BON and accreditation standards, and are inclusive.
  • Maintain all necessary documentation required by the Board of Nursing and accrediting bodies.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A Master's of Nursing from a Nursing Education Program with national accreditation.
  • Possess an active current Unencumbered license to practice as a registered nurse in Colorado, OR possess a current, unencumbered RN license from another state AND have the ability to obtain an unencumbered Colorado RN license by the date of hire.
  • Two (2) years of full-time or equivalent, clinical experience as a practicing registered nurse.
  • Two (2) years of full-time, or equivalent, experience in teaching in an approved Nursing Education Program. Such experience must be at or above the AAS RN degree level.
  • Experience with online teaching and Learning Management System (LMS).
PREFERRED QUALIFCIATIONS
  • A doctorate degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience with the successful development and implementation of a professional nursing education program.
  • Experience with applying and/or attaining national nursing education accreditation.
Supplemental Information
Salary Range: Anticipated starting salary range: $95,000.00. This salary is determined by the qualifications of the selected candidate balanced with departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information. CCA offers an excellent benefit plan, including generous leave, holiday, and education benefits. Full time employees immediately upon hire earn 15 hours a month annual leave and 10 hours a month sick leave.
