Community Action Program of Evansville and Vanderburgh County is Hiring a Director of Philanthropy Near Evansville, IN

The Director of Philanthropy is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing strategic philanthropic initiatives aimed at supporting the mission and goals of the organization. This role involves cultivating relationships with donors, overseeing fundraising efforts, and ensuring effective stewardship of funds.

The Director of Philanthropy will have responsibility for:

  1. Strategic Planning: Develop and implement a comprehensive philanthropic strategy aligned with the organization's mission and objectives.
  2. Fundraising: Lead fundraising efforts by identifying potential donors, cultivating relationships, and soliciting contributions through various channels such as individual donations, grants, corporate sponsorships, and fundraising events.
  3. Donor Cultivation and Stewardship: Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, ensuring their continued engagement and support. Provide personalized stewardship to donors, including regular communication, acknowledgment of contributions, and recognition of their impact.
  4. Grant Management: Oversee the grant-making process, including identifying potential grantees, evaluating grant proposals, and monitoring the impact of funded programs. Identify non-governmental, unrestricted funding sources for all CAPE programs, including but not limited to Head Start, Early Head Start and housing programs. 
  5. Collaboration: Work closely with other departments within the organization, including programmatic, communications, and finance teams, to integrate philanthropic efforts with overall organizational goals and activities. Assist the Director of Cultural Affairs with community outreach and the development and implementation of HUD’s Limited English Proficiency initiative. 
  6. Budgeting and Financial Management: Develop and manage the philanthropy budget, ensuring efficient use of resources and adherence to financial policies and procedures.
  7. Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and reporting requirements for philanthropic activities, including tax laws, grant agreements, and donor restrictions.
  8. Public Relations and Advocacy: Represent the organization in public forums, conferences, and networking events to promote philanthropic initiatives and advocate for social causes supported by the organization.
  9. All other duties as assigned.
