Description
The Administrative Office of the Courts is the operational arm of the Judicial Branch. The court system employs nearly 3,300 personnel who support 406 elected justices, judges, and circuit court clerks.
The Administrative Office of the Courts has an immediate opening for an Accounting Coordinator-Lead position in Franklin County. This position will be responsible for performing advanced accounting duties related to all court of justice expenditures and revenues.
Examples of Duties or Responsibilities:
  • Approve payments in the EMARS application.
  • Review invoices related to contracts for payment.
  • Assist with annual comprehensive financial report compilation.
  • Run monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
  • Submit account setups/modifications to the Office of State Budget Director.
  • Set up local accounting elements in EMARS (Subfunction, location, etc.)
  • Prepare journal voucher corrections.
  • Check allotments and cash balances.
  • Process receivable and cash receipts for federal drawdowns.
  • Process bond payments/wires for debt service payments.
  • Investigate EMARS errors.
  • Oversee circuit clerks change fund account.
  • Set up grants in EMARS.
  • Provide direction to fiscal specialists in the performance of their duties.
  • Assist with development of standard operating procedures for the Division of Accounting Services.
  • Maintain division documents in SharePoint.
  • Maintain travel SharePoint site.
  • Reconciles Procard/credit card statements against authorized charges.
  • Collects non-sufficient fund payments.
  • Maintain auditable records and files.
  • Communicate with elected and non-elected officials regarding purchases, travel, charges and other matters.
  • Monitor procedures related to year end closing and ensure accurate transition to new year.
  • Communicate with vendors, departments, to ensure correct payment processing.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in related field.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: 3 years job related work experience
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: NONE
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Associates/5 years job related experience or High School Diploma/7 years job related experience.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): NONE
Working Conditions
Work is performed primarily in an office setting. Some travel may be required.
