PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Handle the day to day operations of the Front Desk, guest registration, guest requests and services .
Make decisions that are in the best interest of the hotel and contribute to the overall success of the Hotel.
Support and comply with Hotel policies and procedures
Be a cooperative, enthusiastic and productive member of the Hotel team
Achieve productivity goals- following up on all action plans
Ensure that all paperwork is timely and accurate
Effectively communicate with supervisors and coworkers, strong communication with all operational departments particularly with Marketing and Housekeeping.
Participate in department, staff and management team meetings.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
Welcome guests in a friendly, prompt and professional manner, taking into account of the established standards: choice of suitable room, completion of bookings and entry into the computer, handover of the room key, and safeguarding payment
Maintain front desk records and ensure accurate data processing.
Respond appropriately to guest complaints. Make appropriate service recovery gestures to ensure guest satisfaction
Be aware of hotel occupancy and availability
Make reservations as needed or directed
Assist department co-workers in the interest of providing superior guest service
Perform check-in and check-out of guests
Run, analyze, and follow-up on front desk reports as directed & night audit procedures.
Adhere to front desk checklist, read daily logs and take action accordingly
Communicate with other departments to provide superior guest service and promote teamwork
Perform other traditional front desk clerk duties as assigned or directed in other departments.
Work closely with the sales and marketing department to direct revenue management to ensure that the hotel's room occupancy and average daily rate objectives are met and that revenue is maximized.
Receive guest complaints in person, via phone calls, emails and online, and ensure corrective action is taken to achieve complete guest satisfaction.
Maintain an organized and well-kept work area/environment
SAFETY AND SECURITY:
Be knowledgeable of all safety and security procedures
Participate in all training concerning safety and security, fire prevention, and evacuation exercises.
Behave at all times in such a way as to avoid accidents
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Must speak fluent English. (SPANISH IS A PLUS)
Strong communication, reading, writing, organizational, and math.
Must be a customer service orientated person.
Must be proficient in problem solving and reasoning.
Ability to stand in one area for extended period of times and to carry or lift items weighing up to 20 pounds.
MUST be able to work varied shifts, in include nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
