Job Title: Special Event Service Staff- Server and/or Bartender

Department: Special Events 

Reports To: Olivia Rayner, Banquet Manager

Work schedule: Contingent, Schedule Varies Depending on Events

Job Summary: 

The Special Event Servers and Bartenders will provide expert service of food and beverage items for corporate, social, and internal events at the Columbus Museum of Art. This position is responsible for customer service of Special Event clients and guests in accordance with CMA’s service standards. This is a contingent position and will be asked to work on an "as-needed" basis or at the convenience of an individual's personal schedule.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Setting rooms and working with service equipment to execute food service in a variety of scenarios and spaces throughout the building. 
2. Properly set up and serve alcoholic beverages in accordance with liquor control service guidelines and CMA service standards. 
3. Provide excellent customer service for all clients and guests before, during, and after the event
4. Must be able to lift and carry trays of food, move throughout tight spaces with efficiency, have the ability to be on their feet for long periods of time, and push and pull carts of furniture (tables and chairs) and other equipment
5. Must adhere to Serve Safe guidelines and safe food and beverage practices according to the city, county, and state guidelines. 

Qualifications:

• Experience in the Food Service industry, preferably experience with special events.
• Must be quality and service-oriented.
• Have the ability to lift and move equipment and trays up to 50lbs
• Able to work longer hours and weekends when necessary

Uniform Requirements:

Black pants, Black button-up Oxford shirt, black belt, black non-slip shoes

 Physical Demands:

Must be able to stand, walk, sit, talk, or hear. Must be able to use hands to touch, handle and feel. Must be able to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Must be able to reach with hands and arms and carry heavy food-laden trays. Must be able to taste and smell. Must be able to lift, push or pull 50 lbs. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

 Work Environment:

 Must be able to work in high-traffic kitchen/banquet setting to retrieve food for serving. Must carry heavy trays of food/beverages through high-traffic areas and in/out of elevators and loading dock areas. Noise levels are moderate to loud.
