TITLE: Non Public School Support (NPSS) Program Specialist
JOB STATUS: Hourly – Non Exempt
REPORTS TO: Supervisor, Non Public Support Services

POSITION SUMMARY: This position will assist in carrying out program implementation for support services to nonpublic schools. Responsibilities are to include such areas as assisting with program development, monitoring, reporting and evaluation support. Also this position will assist in tutor orientation, consultations, compliance regulation training, professional development, and provide assistance to nonpublic school staff as needed to address areas of concern. The NPSS Program Specialist will assist in performing strategic analysis related to instructional, intervention, programming support services, and perform other special projects for the NPSS Supervisor. Note: Position contingent upon availability of grant funds.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Assist in monitoring and implementation of education instructional programs in assigned nonpublic schools, and address local, state and federal mandates and priorities specifically in the subgroup performance areas by addressing the nonpublic education administrators and staff on such issues that impact students and programs;
Review student assessment data, monitor for assessment driven instruction as well as coach and model effective research and/or evidenced based instructional methods and strategies;
Assist with monitoring all program and compliance requirements and provide technical assistance to administrators and teachers in areas as needed for nonpublic schools;
Assist in the planning and implementation of pre-service and in-service activities on current research and/or evidenced based and effective instructional practices as well as goals, regulations, and procedures of the Title I program;
Assure customer satisfaction and program quality control;
Participate in interviewing and training;
Assist nonpublic administrators in providing support with instructional programs including improvement of instruction to meet program goals and benchmarks;
Coordinate efforts to obtain maximum utilization of facilities, equipment, materials and tutor time to provide an optimal learning environment at multiple sites;
Assist in the training of nonpublic school staff in the administration of the LAS-A assessment for potential EL students;
Serve as assessment support (as needed) for nonpublic schools who request assistance with LAS-A testing;
Initiate ongoing, timely and meaningful communication/consultation and establish a positive rapport with nonpublic personnel;
Participate in planning sessions, gathering program information and review of instructional materials and assessments;
Assist in the completion and submission of required federal forms;
Monitor Parent Involvement activities and Professional Development goals as well as program equipment and materials for assigned nonpublic school sites;
Submit regular documents to NPSS Supervisor and other documents as necessary;
Provide technical assistance by interpreting and articulating nonpublic education regulations, policies and procedures to nonpublic school administrators and tutors as they relate to instruction, as needed;
Collaborate with public school staff to assist in providing services to nonpublic schools identified in consultation meetings;
Attend all meetings and compliance trainings;
Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Master's Degree in education or closely – related field. A minimum of five years' experience in teaching and two years' experience in a supervisory or coaching position. Title I experience is preferred. Must be able to effectively interact and communicate with teachers, students, administrators and parents.

Must demonstrate positive and enthusiastic attitude towards all clients and colleagues
Must be able to communicate and give directions to others, be well organized and flexible
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office 2010 programs (Word, Excel primarily). Email and Internet skills are essential. Must be able to use a scanner and Adobe for creating and sending PDF files
Experience with or willingness to learn Google Docs, etc.
