Columbia Athletic Club is Hiring a Front Desk Attendant Near Everett, WA

Front Desk Attendant (not summer only)
COLUMBIA ATHLETIC CLUBS
Job Title: Front Desk Attendant
Schedule: Part-Time.
Job Summary:
The Front Desk Attendant is responsible for greeting members, guests, and Columbia Athletic Club visitors. This position is responsible for providing friendly service and creating a positive atmosphere for those entering the facilities. This individual provides members, guests, and visitors with program and activities information, in person or on the phone, and takes program/activities reservations and sign-ups. Also, they check in members and distribute locker keys and towels. The Front Desk Attendant will operate the juice bar and pro shop, participate in the cleaning of the Club, stock supplies, and provide some pool maintenance (where applicable). In some cases, this individual may open and close the Club. Work is reviewed in terms of guest and visitor interaction/satisfaction, knowledge of Club facilities, activities, and programs, and the ability to interact and communicate with people.
Essential Duties:
  • Greet and check members in and make sure membership status is current.
  • Greet guests and visitors as they enter and exit the Club.
  • Direct people and route phone inquiries to the proper departments.
  • Take members' appointments, reservations, and sign-ups for Club activities.
  • Accurately and safely handle Front Desk sales, cash, and credit card transactions.
  • Keep Club neat, clean, and well-stocked. (To include cleaning glass, mirrors, countertops, floors, and locker rooms.)
  • Open and close the Club according to club procedures.
  • Ensure members’ and guests’ safety.
  • Distribute locker keys, towels, balls, racquets, etc.
  • Be knowledgeable about all Club activities and programs and provide members with information about programs, etc., answer members' questions.
  • Wash, dry, and fold towels.
  • Sell pro shop items.
  • Maintain an accurate cash register and Z-out register. Process cash and credit card transactions correctly and oversee safekeeping of all money and other valuables.
  • When in the locker room, inspect the sauna, steam room, and spa.
  • Visit the weight room periodically when it is not supervised; clean it at closing. (To include cleaning tables in the member lounge.)
  • Check fire exits periodically to make sure they are locked.
  • Advise Maintenance and Repair Person of facilities' condition or need for janitorial service.
  • Assist with training of newly hired Front Desk Attendants.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Effective communication skills, in person and on the phone.
  • Ability to meet and deal with the public in a friendly and enthusiastic manner.
  • Work well under pressure.
  • Maintain quality and service-oriented contacts with members, guests, and visitors.
  • Accurate handling of paperwork.
  • Ability to handle several tasks at the same time in an efficient manner, well organized.
  • Accurate in the handling of money, records, etc.
  • Skill in operating a cash register or computer.
  • Ability to use the phone well.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or high school student.
  • Six months of experience in a position involved in the dispensing of information through personal contact and the phone.
  • CPR certified.
  • Available to work varied schedules including nights and weekends.
