Columbia Allergy has a part-time Medical Assistant position open in our Oakland office.

We are looking for an employee who excels in patient care for both children and adults, customer service, and attention to detail. The perfect applicant needs to thrive in a fast-paced environment and be able to integrate easily as a member of the team.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Strong Injection experience preferred but not required
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
• Strong attention to detail
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) proficiency
• Pediatric experience
• Vital signs
• Rooming
• Phone triage
• Experienced with prior authorizations and prescription refills
• Proficient typing skills
• Back-up the Patient Care Coordinator as needed - cross train.
• Other duties assigned by or requested by the Charge RN and/or supervisor

Qualifications and Skills:

• Medical Assistant National Credential preferred
• High School diploma or equivalent
• BLS/CPR certification obtained within 30 days of hire
• Strong Computer skills with Word, Excel, PDF programs, Scanning/faxing
• Reliable transportation
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Professional demeanor with a focus on accurate, efficient, and comprehensive patient care
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Punctual and reliable attendance
• Kind, upbeat, and positive attitude
• Self-motivated, with the ability to work both independently and cooperatively as a team member
