Salary: 60,000.00 - 65,000.00. Commensurate with education and experience. Excellent health and retirement benefits package.

SUMMARY:
The person in this position is responsible for development, implementation, and on-going instruction for the Mobile Learning Lab in the area of Industrial and Manufacturing processes, which includes PLC programming, and operation and maintenance of industrial equipment. Duties include teaching, curriculum development, scheduling, ordering of supplies and equipment, assisting in student advising, recruitment and placement of students, and other relevant duties. Some degree of travel is required in this position. Evening/weekend teaching may be needed. This is a 12 month, full time, faculty appointment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, other duties as assigned:
TEACHING
Teach and advise students in the Mechatronics program
Create an effective learning environment for students while using appropriate resources, technology, and pedagogy in the delivery of courses
Assist in recruiting and retention of students
Responsible for instruction to follow approved curriculum and to achieve course student learning outcomes
Evaluate student performance in coursework and make necessary provisions to meet learning needs
Maintain student grades and attendance
Monitor lab competencies and confirm skill levels
Perform all responsibilities and instructional duties in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations as well as WCCC/CMU policies and procedures
Arrange and coordinate guest speakers and/or field trips
Maintain good working relations with all industry affiliates
Develop and maintain program advisory committee (2 meetings a year)
Review and update program curriculum as required by business, industry and in accordance with HLC college curriculum requirements
Review and update course and program assessments
Promote a positive collegiate atmosphere
Maintain necessary professional and educational credentials, and currency appropriate to teaching assignments; obtain CTE credential within 6 months of employment
Participate in professional development activities that facilitate professional expertise in the areas of teaching and maintenance of mechatronics competence
Participate in local, state, or national professional associations
Assist with open houses and orientation
Maintain intent to graduate forms
Maintain and manage program budget
MOBILE LEARNING LAB
Scheduling of, and travel with, Mobile Learning Lab
Order supplies and maintain equipment as needed
Contact and develop relationships with businesses and schools on the Western Slope for reskilling and upskilling employees and students to utilize the lab as much as possible
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
REQUIRED:
  • Associate degree or higher in related field from accredited institution OR valid industry credentials
  • Minimum of 4000 hours (approximately 2 years full time) of related occupational experience within the past 7 years
  • Willingness to travel to various locations with Mobile Learning Lab
  • Background in electrical systems, hydraulics, electronics, robotics, and PLC programming.
  • Ability and willingness to troubleshoot a process system.
PREFERRED:
  • Training or teaching experience in related field, either in a work training environment or in an educational environment
  • Possess a Career and Technical Education Credential
