COLORADO COALITION FOR THE HOMELESS is Hiring a Revenue Cycle Specialist Near Denver, CO

The mission of the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless is to work collaboratively toward the prevention of homelessness and the creation of lasting solutions for homeless and at-risk families, children, and individuals throughout Colorado. The Coalition advocates for and provides a continuum of housing and a variety of services to improve the health, well-being, and stability of those it serves.

The Colorado Coalition for the Homeless seeks a Health Care Revenue Cycle Specialist to be responsible for timely follow up and consistent collection of the Coalition’s patient/consumer health care services related revenue; including maintenance of related claim information in the NextGen Practice Maintenance system. This position is located at 2062 Stout Street, Denver, CO 80205 and reports to the Director of Health Care Revenue Cycle.

Essential Job Functions
  • Answers client, patient and carrier calls; promptly returns and follows up with all interactions; promptly responds to requests for information.
  • Manages unpaid claims in a timely manner as assigned through the use of the NextGen practice management system, aging reports, adjustments, payment postings, correspondence, Clearinghouse rejections; as well as any other receivable balance projects as needed.
  • Effectively handles complex payer denials, outstanding balance reports, and payer appeals.
  • Monitors and reconciles claims, including held claims, unbilled claims, denial trends, payer balance reports, and credits, refunds, and adjustments.
  • Achieves pre-established goals related to workflow, work quality, work quantity, transactions, processes, and compliance requirements.
  • Ensures appropriate and accurate claim follow-up integrity of billing related information entered into the practice management system, including but not limited to, provider/billing numbers, insurance information and CPT, HCPF, ICD-10 coding.
  • Serves as a resource to other organization staff for billing issues/questions.
  • Complies with and enforces relevant Policies and Procedures.
  • Maintains current and complete COVID‐19 vaccination(s), as defined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and local health authorities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
​Qualifications Summary
  • High school diploma or GED required, Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Two to three years billing experience in a multi-specialty, physician-based medical facility preferred.
