COLORADO COALITION FOR THE HOMELESS is Hiring a Licensed Behavioral Health Clinician Near Denver, CO

The mission of the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless is to work collaboratively toward the prevention of homelessness and the creation of lasting solutions for homeless and at-risk families, children, and individuals throughout Colorado. The Coalition advocates for and provides a continuum of housing and a variety of services to improve the health, well-being, and stability of those it serves.

The Colorado Coalition for the Homeless seeks a Behavioral Health Clinician II to provide care to individuals in the designated single-occupancy program units of CCH’s housing facilities and/or in the off-site units. This position will assist individuals in maintaining their housing by providing services, support, and the clinical interventions necessary to live as independently as possible and prevent re-occurring homelessness. This role will also be responsible for intakes, assessments, treatment planning, and all other service provision to adult individuals with disabilities living in a community of recovery. This position is located at 3999 Colorado Boulevard, Denver, Colorado 80205and reports to the Program Manager. 

NOTE: In order to ensure that our consumers receive the best possible care the candidate chosen to fill this position will be required to complete our internal credentialing and privileging process prior to a start date. The credentialing and privileging timeline is dependent on the selected candidate's submission of documents necessary for clearance. Please note that a start date will be scheduled once credentialing and privileging is complete.

Essential Job Functions
  • Provides excellent internal and external customer service.
  • Works collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team to serve clients in a comprehensive, effective, and caring way.
  • Provides on-going clinical case management services to homeless persons with psychiatric diagnoses, including severe and persistent mental illness, and co-occurring substance-related disorders.
  • Conducts biopsychosocial assessments, intake screening, makes appropriate diagnoses according to DSM-5 guidelines.
  • Creates and assists in reaching treatment goals with clients.
  • Facilitates therapeutic meetings with clients in individual and group settings.
  • Maintains accurate electronic health record with timely documentation.
  • Records all services in a timely and complete fashion in the company’s electronic health record (EHR).
  • Maintains up-to-date data, recording all client communications in the EHR.
  • Manages tasks and document scanning to ensure complete and current client charts.
  • Maintains accurate information regarding client’s insurance status.
  • Utilizes the EHR to provide data required. Assist in any EHR upgrades, as needed. 
  • Participates in audits and other projects to help improve and maintain accurate records that meet and/or exceed CCH work standards.
  • Completes Medicaid authorizations, client database entries and any other reporting requirements necessary to obtain and/or continue payment(s) for service(s) to program individuals.
  • Assists clients in identifying and accessing resources for both immediate and long-term needs, including but not limited to physical health, psychiatric medication, public assistance, etc.
  • Facilitates connections with service providers to help clients meet their identified needs, including assistance around substance use treatment facilities and other higher acuity care.
  • Provides transportation for clients, as appropriate.
  • Navigates Social Security, Medicaid, Medicare and all other public assistance systems on behalf of clients. Serves as a liaison with those collaborating agencies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
​Qualifications Summary
  • Master’s degree in social work, counseling, or similar field is required.
  • Licensed in the State of Colorado as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) is strongly preferred. If unlicensed, must be registered as an LSW or LPCC, and be actively working towards completion of licensure requirements to be licensed within 3-months of eligibility. 
  • Previous professional experience in substance use issues or addiction/recovery is preferred.
  • Certified Addiction Specialist (CAS - formerly Certified Addiction Counselor III - CAC III) or Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) in the State of Colorado is highly preferred.

$5,000 Sign-On Bonus (Prorated Based On Weekly Schedule)

Qualified candidates are eligible for the National Health Service Corps (NHSC) Loan Repayment Program. Licensed health care providers may earn funds towards student loans in exchange for a two-year commitment at an NHSC-approved site through this program.
