The mission of the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless is to work collaboratively toward the prevention of homelessness and the creation of lasting solutions for homeless and at-risk families, children, and individuals throughout Colorado.

The Coalition advocates for and provides a continuum of housing and a variety of services to improve the health, well-being, and stability of those it serves.

The Colorado Coalition for the Homeless seeks a Teacher Assistant (Early Childhood Education) t o work as part of a team in the center to provide for the educational, physical, social and emotional needs of the children within a variety of classrooms.

This position is located at 1797 Kendall St., Lakewood, Colorado 80214 and reports to the Director.

Essential Job Functions

• Assist the classroom teacher in providing an environment which is both age and developmentally appropriate for the children in the classroom.
• Assists the classroom teacher in accessing children and entering data in the Teaching Strategies Gold data base.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Summary

• Must have minimum Early Childhood Teacher qualifications or be willing to obtain them.
• One year of experience working with children in a licensed childcare facility preferred.
