Of Color Inc. is a community-based workforce and housing not-for-profit. The organization works to assist at-risk families economically through sustainable employment, increasing their education status while leading them to a safe and secure home environment. We serve clients throughout the city of Chicago with a strong base on the city’s south side. Our offices are located on Chicago’s south side.

We are searching for skilled, innovative, and forward-thinking professionals with proven experience in facilitating Employment and Housing Services for our city’s Homeless Populations. This individual should have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree with 8 – 10 years of proven direct program supervisory experience, but a Master’s Degree is preferred in a relevant area with 8 years of proven experience. The individual that we are seeking should be highly proficient in Excel, Word, and other databases. The Director will report to and work closely with the agency’s Executive Director and as an integral part of our leadership team, responsible for the day-to-day operations of the program(s).

Salary:

Salary is based upon experience, with a range from $80,000 to $87,500.

Location:

Our position is based in Chicago’s southside (we have one service site in Beverly and another in Evergreen Park)

Position Overview

Responsible for the successful implementation and administration of our HUD, Flexible Housing and Employment and Income homeless programs. Directly supervises and coordinates case management and program-specific services. Provide weekly, individual, supervision with staff; attend funder, client, and program meetings. Ensure client files follow Agency and funder regulations. Oversees project implementation at agency, City, and Continuum of Care levels; including special projects, initiatives, and coordinated access. Train staff appropriately to meet the needs of our contracts.

Relevant Degree Types: Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, Education, Marketing, Business, Job and Vocational Services, or Training, etc. Others are viable if proven experience and success is verified.

Special Knowledge and Qualifications: Knowledge of the Housing and Workforce Development industry; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Ability to work independently and as part of a team; Experience with external networking and agency representation; Experience working with the homeless population and their families; Must be proficient in Word, Excel, and other reporting platforms. Skilled with the utilization of computers for data entry, communication, and report writing; must understand how to navigate funder portals. Must possess vehicle and current, valid driver’s license and insurance.

Work Environment: This position requires direct contact with clients in the community and with employers, business partners and realtors throughout Chicagoland.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $87,500.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
