Colonial Parking is Hiring a Payroll Supervisor Near Washington, DC

Position Summary:

The Payroll & Benefits Supervisor role is responsible for the complete payroll administration including setting up payroll account codes, processing payroll certifications, setting up voluntary deductions, processing and auditing payroll, auditing payroll reports, processing tax forms and resolving payroll issues; as well as directing and planning the day-to-day operations of the group benefit programs (group health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, travel and accidental plan, continuation coverage, retirement planning, family medical leave, employee accommodation and other company benefits as designated by the company. This individual will support the employees throughout their life cycle with the company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Processes and verifies employee timecards; keys hours worked and other information for payroll run to be completed; sets up and processes voluntary and involuntary deductions, such as employee loans, tax liens, child support orders, and garnishments; balances batches; prepares all payroll tax reporting.
  • Educates supervisors on payroll process and compliance.
  • Runs yearly payroll audit.
  • Partner with VP HR and outside broker in the research of employee benefits plans and vendors to identify those that present the best value.
  • Assist in the management of the benefits plan renewal process.
  • Examine possible plan design or benefit cost changes.
  • Serve as a primary contact for plan vendors and third party administrators. Determine the best plan options by working with outside broker or third party administrator.
  • Coordinate transfer of data to external contacts for service, premiums and plan administrator.
  • Work effectively to ensure plans run smoothly.
  • Investigate discrepancies and provide information in non-routine situations.
  • Evaluate and revise internal processes to reduce cost and increase efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations (HIPAA).
  • Coordinate daily benefits processing: Enrollments, COBRA, terminations, changes, beneficiaries, disability, accidental and death claims, QDRO’s, QMCSO’s and distributions.
  • Reconcile invoices.
  • Liaisons between employees and carriers on an as-needed basis.
  • Design and distribute materials for benefit orientations and open enrollment.
  • Create and conduct presentations using audiovisual tools, power point, and other electronic devices.
  • Responsible at all times for reviewing, understanding and acknowledging in writing when requested, the company provided policies and procedures that directly support completing my required work duties.

Minimum Job Qualifications:

  • Please do not reapply!
  • High school diploma and at least three years of related experience in payroll processing function.
  • Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
  • Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirement both adopted and effecting employee benefit programs, including ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, SECTION 125, Medicare, Social Security and DOL requirements.
  • PAYCOM knowledge a big plus.
  • Established experience in Microsoft Office Products including Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
  • Knowledge of benefits contract language.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $77,000.00 per year
