Job Description

Collins Aerospace is looking for a preventative maintenance mechanic with experience to support our manufacturing floor equipment in Wilsonville. The ideal candidate will have experience in understanding and performing maintenance on manufacturing process and test equipment, troubleshooting processes, and communicating with stakeholders. This position will be part of the industrial engineering group and will receive scheduled and unscheduled work orders from the preventative maintenance coordinator. Primary role will be to support normal shift production. Time management, prioritization, quick context switching, and clear communication skills are a must.

Daily tasks will include working with industrial engineering technicians, test technicians, industrial engineers, manufacturing electrical engineers, build operators, and other support staff. The candidate that will fill this position will benefit from software experience/expertise in applications such as eView, SAP, Hexagon and Office applications. This position also requires supporting process equipment associated with Environmental Stress Screening, vibration testing and associated software suites.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • This position has cleanroom responsibilities.

  • Required to use hand tools and power tools to assist in preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on mechanical, electrical and pneumatic equipment and systems.

  • Timeliness completion of preventative work orders and logs which may require operating company vehicles, handling environmental equipment and performing hazardous waste recycling.

  • Assist in planning, scheduling and performing scheduled and unscheduled preventive maintenance for assigned production equipment maintenance.

  • Under limited supervision, performs a variety of routine and simplistic facilities maintenance duties in company buildings and surrounding property including furniture moves.

  • Maintaining and recommending spare parts.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Experience Needed

  • Typically a high school diploma or equivalent. In the absence of a HS diploma or GED, typically 2 years of relevant experience is required.

  • U.S. Citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

  • Preferred Education - AA/AS in Industrial Technology of Computer Technology

  • Overtime eligible

  • Electrical, Mechanical and Pneumatic equipment experience.

  • The ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Attention to detail in order to ensure safety and quality.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.

  • Intermediate computer skills in terms of typing, navigating screens and learning new software programs.

  • Demonstrated analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.

  • The ability to effectively work with and take direction from more experienced coworkers, supervisors and production managers.

  • The ability to successfully complete training modules associated with job grade.

  • The ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures.

  • Ability to be standing for 8 hours

  • Ability to fill the potential duties of lifting/moving heavy parts and/or equipment weighing up to 55 pounds
