Job Summary:

A Technical Delivery Manager combines technical expertise with project management skills to oversee the delivery of technical solutions or projects. They are responsible for managing the technical aspects of a project from start to finish, ensuring that the deliverables meet the required specifications, deadlines, and quality standards.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the Product Team (Product Managers, Product Owners), Business Analysts, Development and QA resources to define project goals, scope, timelines, and resource requirements.
• Create detailed project plans and establish communication channels to ensure effective coordination among team members.
• Create, maintain, and update accurate delivery plans and roadmaps with each team, reflecting the business prioritization from Product.
• Provide guidance and support to development teams or engineers throughout the project lifecycle. Offer insights into technology choices, architecture decisions, and best practices to ensure efficient implementation of solutions.
• Responsible for allocating resources effectively to achieve project objectives. This includes assigning tasks to team members based on their skills and availability and managing dependencies between different work streams.
• Identify potential risks or challenges that may arise during the project execution phase. They develop risk mitigation strategies or contingency plans to minimize disruptions to the project timeline or quality.
• Provide ongoing operational support, maintenance, technical documentation, consultation and end-user support for home grown and vendor applications. Troubleshoot user and security problems as required.
• Define quality standards for deliverables and establish processes for testing, reviewing code or designs, conducting peer code reviews, etc., to maintain quality throughout the development process.
• Ensure all project-related documentation, such as technical specifications, user manuals, or test plans, are created and maintained accurately. Generate regular reports on project status, milestones achieved, risks identified, etc., to keep stakeholders informed.
• Stay current with developments in information technology concepts, tools, techniques, and applications. Also requires staying current with policies, business practices and security guidelines and policies.
• Help organize code reviews and prepare for weekly software releases and assist with coordination of system upgrades.
• Contribute to streamlining existing in-house processes (i.e., data migrations, builds and deployments, new environment setup, etc.)

Knowledge and skills:

• Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Degree preferred.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Prior experience as a Release Train Engineer or SCRUM Master for multiple teams and disciplines, or very similar experience
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with Agile software delivery methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban
• Should have good technical understanding of applications and development processes in general. A good sense for business needs.
• Experience using workflow software to streamline defects and project development. Should have excellent Atlassian skills (Jira, but also Confluence and Bitbucket) when it comes to planning, roadmaps, resource management and release planning.
• Familiarity of Object-oriented programming (OOP) and development skills using C#, VB.NET, WinForms, Entity Framework/LINQ, WPF, MVVM, ASP.NET WebForms, ASP.NET MVC, Xamarin
• Familiarity with front end technologies, including HTML5, JavaScript, JQuery, CSS
• Familiarity utilizing and designing web services, including JSON, SOAP, XML, Windows Communication Foundation, WebAPI technologies.
• Understanding of source control discipline (knowledge of Bitbucket/Git/Team Foundation a plus)

Starting Annual Salary: $80,000 - $140,000

Job Type: Full-time
