Collage Group is Hiring a Remote Director of People

Position: Director of People

Location: Hybrid out of the Bethesda office. May consider remote candidates if outside of the DMV.

Overview

Collage Group is seeking a Director of People to join our innovative and growing team in our mission to help organizations unleash the power of culture to drive brand growth at a time when America is undergoing a seismic cultural transformation. The Director of People will cultivate Collage Group’s culture by setting our people up for success, generating an outstanding employee experience, and structuring systems that enable a fast-growing organization to consistently scale excellent performance. The selected candidate will be responsible for owning, operationalizing, and subsequently driving people strategies.

The Director of People will report to the CEO and own the core portfolio of HR, people, and culture including performance management, engagement & culture, recruiting, onboarding, offboarding and policy & program implementation.

What you will do

● Understand, support, and embody a culture that reinforces our mission and values, increases morale, engages feedback, and attracts new talent to accelerate a continuous improvement mentality
● Champion a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace while designing and implementing best practices to support their achievement
● Upgrade the employee journey and identify gaps in our current approaches on various stages. Develop processes to improve and manage onboarding, 30-60-90 day check-ins, buddy and offboarding programs for employees
● Collect and analyze HR data/metrics and apply data to make recommendations related to retention and legal compliance
● Optimize employee compensation and benefit programs by setting a total rewards philosophy, ensuring market competitiveness and that it reflects our values and “Collager” needs
● Review and implement approved changes to current performance management methodologies and systems in an effort to provide more efficient and effective employee review and retention processes
● Collaborate with leadership on how to best develop employees including change management, coaching opportunities, providing feedback and making recommendations for training programs to improve capabilities for staff at all levels of the organization
● Lead organizational design, change management, and develop career paths to provide growth opportunities for “Collagers” and to better align with organizational goals
● Manage and coordinate with our external human resources partners to ensure Collage Group maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
● Facilitate annual benefit open enrollment program and provide feedback on improvements that are mutually beneficial

 What you have done

● Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience
● 10 years of progressive experience in a senior HR role with a working knowledge of multiple HR disciplines including employee relations, performance management, employee engagement, and federal and state employment laws
● Prior success in owning HR functions and designing HR processes and objectives
● SHRM-CP or PHR certifications desirable
● Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel; demonstrated ability to establish competency with new technologies and applications
● Ability to build trusting relationships, being seen as reliable, approachable, and helpful to employees and management while maintaining confidentiality
● Motivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail
● Ability to share insights with leadership about the HR function
● Ability to exercise sound, independent judgment with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
● Ambitious team player who is excited to roll-up your sleeves and chip-in to support the company’s overall success in this tactical and strategic role
● Prior success in contributing to a growing technology startup, preferred
● Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels of the company
● Excellent time management skills with the ability to work at a fast pace under tight deadlines and changing priorities
