Job Description 

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Software Engineering Manager to join one of our targeted software development zones and lead our talented team of software engineers in developing groundbreaking solutions that will shape the future of healthcare. In this role, you’ll lead multiple teams consisting of 3-5 software and QA engineers, a Scrum Master, and Product Owner.

You will work closely with your direct reports, product teams, and other engineering teams in a fast-paced, collaborative, and iterative environment requiring quick learning, agility, and flexibility.

The Software Engineering Manager will report to the Vice President of Engineering - Product

Responsibilities 

• Oversee and manage several teams of professional engineers, ensuring that they work efficiently and effectively to meet project deadlines
• Work closely with other departments to ensure seamless integration of software solutions into healthcare workflows
• Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that encourages creativity, innovation, career development, and mentoring
• Drive continuous process improvement with the exploration and adoption of new cutting -edge technologies, methodologies and best practices in healthcare software development that adhere to healthcare industry regulations and compliance standards
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand healthcare industry challenges and translate them into technical solutions
• Implement robust testing practices to ensure the reliability and security of healthcare software applications
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management and design, to define project goals and requirements
• Oversee the end-to-end software development lifecycle to ensure high quality projects are successfully delivered on time and within budget
• Effectively manage multiple projects with competing priorities and still meet project deadlines
• Define, manage, and report on engineering effectiveness KPIs; be able to make necessary recommendations and adjustments in reaction to determined inefficiencies
• Develop and execute the technical strategy aligned with the company's vision and goals
• Conduct research on emerging trends in healthcare technology to inform strategic decision-making
• Assist in screening, evaluating and hiring new Engineering staff

Requirements 

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field 
• Proficiency in Java, database design, microservices, AWS, and frontend technologies
• Practical knowledge and meaningful experience deploying web services in a cloud based infrastructure
• Proven experience in software engineering with at least 5 years of managerial experience building and leading technical engineering teams
• Experience managing and coaching teams that use the Agile framework
• Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Willingness to work in a fast paced, high pressure, deadline driven environment

• Healthcare software management experience
• Familiarity with healthcare industry regulations, such as HIPAA, and experience in implementing solutions that comply with these standards
• Managing technical teams in a startup environment

Salary: $170,000
