Under general supervision facilitates the Ramada rental program at multiple parks and performs a variety of semi-skilled manual labor in the maintenance of County parks and open space properties (i.e. buildings, grounds, equipment, etc.); responsible for general maintenance and care of park amenities (i.e. restrooms, playgrounds, Ramadas, landscapes, etc.); acts as a helper for a craftsman or skilled trades worker; operates a variety of hand and power tools; carries out park cleaning and other duties as assigned.Please Note:This is a temporary full-time position with an end date of September 30, 2024.  (Illustrative Only)• Performs manual labor• Operates a variety of light and heavy equipment• Cleans and maintains County facilities and park amenities• Performs grounds maintenance, including weeding• Performs other duties as assignedEssential functions of this position include but are not limited to driving; lifting and carrying up to fifty (50) pounds when loading and unloading trucks; team lifting up to 100 pounds; working with and around other staff and the public. This position works outside most of the time. Any combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position. Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona driver's license.The ideal candidate is able to work weekends and holidays; has experience working with customer service; experience with hand and power tools; experience with janitorial and cleaning procedures of the position.Preferred Qualifications include previous work experience with a Parks department; two years of general maintenance experience; two years of customer service work experience.Experience with minor repair maintenance; and park and recreation experience or background with events. This position is non-exempt from overtime.This position is safety sensitive. Considerable knowledge of:
- Operation of power and manual tools- Operation of light and heavy equipmentWorking knowledge of:
- Tools, materials, methods and practices used in maintenance

- Laws, ordinances and regulations involved in equipment operation- Occupational hazards and safety precautionsAbility to:
- Work varying shifts, weekends and holidays

- Work extended hours out of doors in varying weather conditions- Perform heavy manual labor- Effectively handle lifting of various objects weighing up to 60 pounds- Operate various types of tools and equipment safely and efficiently- Work safely and support the culture of workplace safety- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies and the public- Follow written and verbal instructions- Communicate effectively verbally and in writingCoconino County is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
