Superintendents must be able to work all four days of the Fair as well as receiving, judging, outtake and Fair workdays. Superintendents are required to attend monthly planning meetings located at Fort Tuthill from January through August. Fair Superintendents manage their department’s buildings, entries, and demonstrations. They are responsible for coordinating the recruitment of judges and volunteers, and must supervise the assigned building during fair hours.
The 2024 Coconino County Fair dates are Friday, August 30th – Monday, September 2nd. The fair is open 10:00 am – 10:00 pm Friday to Sunday and 10:00 am – 4:00 pm on Monday.
Under limited supervision, performs a variety of semi-skilled manual labor for support of the lessee events program.

Fair Superintendents will receive a $537.60 stipend upon completion of the Fair.

Any combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position. Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona driver's license. Final job offer will be contingent upon a satisfactory 5-year motor vehicle report.
The ideal candidate will be proactive, an optimistic team player, and have a positive attitude with the ability to multitask. Experience working with the public – primarily youth – and experience supervising volunteers preferred. Ability to deal effectively with stress caused by public contact and to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with public. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, fellow volunteers, and the public, is an effective communicator, reliable, and passionate about youth development.
Preferred qualifications: Year-round residence inside Coconino County; experience working with the public and customer service experience. Valid Driver’s License; reliable transportation; experience working with youth for positions involving 4-H. Previous fair experience. Must be able to work under limited supervision. 4-H/FFA experience is preferred for 4-H/FFA.
