Coastal Health is currently searching for a certified medical coder to join our growing billing team. This person should have knowledge with Ortho and surgical billing.

The responsibilities include is responsible for reviewing a patient's medical record after a visit and translating the information into codes that insurers use to process claims. Confirming treatments with medical staff and identifying missing information and submitting claims for reimbursement.
 
Making sure that codes are assigned correctly and sequenced appropriately as per government and insurance regulations. 
Complying with medical coding guidelines and polices 
Receiving and reviewing patients charts and documents for verification and accuracy 
Following up and clarifying any information that is not clear to other staff members 
Collecting information made by the physician from various sources to prepare monthly reports
Implementing strategic procedures and choosing strategies and evaluation methods that provide correct results 

 
Qualifications- 
5 years' experience 
Must have valid certification
Experience with surgical billing/ Ortho 
Experience with Surgery Center billing
Strong understanding of medical terms and anatomy 
Proficiency in computer skills 
Excellent written and verbal communications skills 
Strict attention to detail 
Knowledge of data entry
