Job description
Veterinary Doctor's Assistant
Coast to Coast Cardiology is hiring veterinary doctor's assistants! What is a veterinary doctor's assistant, you may ask? Veterinary doctor's assistants work directly with our doctors to help build and manage medical records for all of our patients. This includes compiling and organizing referring veterinarian records, ensuring the presentation of accurate and coherent medical records for our specialty cases, as well as assisting doctors and technicians with daily patient husbandry and care. We are looking for candidates with a strong work ethic who will deliver excellent service to our clients to join our privately-owned multi-site veterinary cardiology group. Pre-veterinary and pre-medical students are encouraged, and this is a fantastic opportunity to learning medical terminology and work one on one with board-certified veterinary specialists! We are currently hiring full-time or part-time employees that will be working with our veterinary specialists at our Newton, Peabody, and Sturbridge MA locations. The ability to travel to multiple locations is strongly preferred, especially for full-time candidates.
Responsibilities for this position include preparation of electronic medical records ahead of the appointment, collecting patient referring veterinary information and medical records from primary care veterinarians/ER hospitals, recording visit information, and documentation of client communications.
The right candidate must be detail-oriented, with adept computer and typing skills (ability to type at least 75 words/minute) with accurate grammar, punctuation, spelling, and excellent communication skills. Candidates will need to at times work in a fast-paced environment and assist doctors with both clinical and non-clinical tasks. A team player with a love for animals and their owners is a must!
Coast to Coast Cardiology strives to be quality-driven, advanced, progressive, and innovative in our approach to cardiac medical therapy for our patients. Our team collaborates with pet owners, their family veterinarians, and other veterinary specialists to offer the highest level of excellent, compassion-based service. We practice in a rich and rewarding environment that cultivates an optimized informational experience for staff and clients alike.
In order to provide this environment, ideal candidates must share our commitment to the values we strive for. They will exhibit effective and compassionate communication skills, empathy, enthusiastic initiative, and collaboration with their co-workers in a fast-paced, team-driven environment. We encourage growth, flexibility, and adaptability in our day-to-day work environment. We encourage candidates to apply who have at least 3 years of experience in this or a related field (i.e. animal or human medicine). Our candidates are required to pass a criminal background check.
If you are interested, please apply immediately with your resume and cover letter. CCC is an equal opportunity employer.
