Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to our animal patients. Your expertise and knowledge will contribute to the overall well-being of the animals under our care.
Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians in performing medical procedures and surgeries
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Monitor and record vital signs of animals
- Perform laboratory tests and analyze results
- Prepare animals for surgery, including prepping surgical sites and sterilizing equipment
- Provide animal restraint during examinations and procedures
- Assist with pet grooming, including bathing, brushing, and nail trimming
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the veterinary clinic
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care and medication administration
Qualifications:
- Certification as a Veterinary Technician
- Proficient in veterinary terminology and animal physiology
- Experience in animal restraint techniques
- Knowledge of laboratory procedures and aseptic technique
- Ability to perform animal catheterization
- Familiarity with animal husbandry practices
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work well in a team environment
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working with equine patients
