Coalition is Hiring a Business Development Team Lead, US West Near San Francisco, CA

About The Role

Business Development at Coalition is about creating and maintaining relationships with our broker partners and customers. We are looking for an experienced and dynamic cyber insurance sales professional to help us develop and empower the success of our partners by matching Coalition’s first-rate ideas and innovations with a broker’s business goals. The person in this role will function in a player/coach capacity to implement on daily BD priorities and to also provide mentorship to the broader team. This role will report to our Director, National US Business Development.

This is a remote opportunity that can be located anywhere in the Western region of the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a deep knowledge of Coalition’s insurance and technology solutions and speak with brokers about the most relevant features and functionalities for their specific business needs
  • Drive and mentor a team of Cyber and Executive Risks business development representatives within the Western US region
  • Guide all sales activities for Coalition’s broker partners through strong relationship-building, product knowledge, planning and implementation
  • Own the ultimate accountability for brokers’ satisfaction with Coalition
  • Develop new brokerage relationships from inbound leads and strategic outreach
  • Identify target brokerages for new outbound campaigns
  • Meet target quota of qualified opportunities, value of sales pipeline and closed business
  • Report, track, and handle sales activities and results
  • Identify and resolve roadblocks to brokers achieving their stated business goals
  • Monitor performance and identify trends in Coalition adoption and utilization and provide guidance to brokers as part of their periodic Success Review

Skills and Qualifications

  • 7 years of experience selling and/or underwriting cyber and other related lines
  • Familiarity with Cyber Liability, Technology, D&O, and EPL insurance
  • Existing relationships with both retailers and wholesalers
  • Self-motivated and entrepreneurial spirit
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic environment
  • Strong interactive communication skills 
  • Aptitude to learn technical concepts and terminology
  • Experience handling multiple tasks and projects simultaneously

Bonus Points

  • Mentorship and/or people management experience
  • Technical background in cybersecurity, engineering, and/or computer science
  • RPLU, CPCU or other industry specific designations

Compensation

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The US base salary for this position ranges from $137,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $190,000/year in our highest geographic market. Consistent with applicable laws, an employee's pay within this range is based on a number of factors, which include but are not limited to relevant education, skills, job-related knowledge, qualifications, work experience, credentials, and/or geographic location.
