MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalency. Bachelor’s degree is a plus. Must have 3 years of maintenance management, operations, or logistical direction of a sizable transportation organization.
• Able to fluently communicate with all levels of staff both verbally and in written form, Spanish speaking a plus.
• Advanced knowledge of motor carrier rules & regulations under State and US DOT.
• Proficient application knowledge of modern computer and office technology.
• Progressive facility management skills with equipment maintenance experience and operational knowledge and experience in Electronic Diagnostics and brake repair certification or experience.
• Understanding of state and federal OSHA, EPA and safety regulations.
• Sound and consistent ability to manage staff and workplace interactions, including employee hiring, coaching & development.
• Must have experience managing/directing 10 plus employees.
• An equivalent combination of education, training or experience that meets the job pre-requisites will be considered.

REQUIREMENTS:

• The ability to track and control parts inventories, vendors, and suppliers.
• Properly prioritize, implement, and manage work schedules, projects, and assignments.
• Manage the financial/accounting aspects of a maintenance department.
• Computer skills including Office, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Office Suite
• Must have technical competence with light/medium/heavy duty vehicle repair and preventive maintenance.
• Self-discipline, initiative, and professionalism at all times.
• ASE or manufacturer's certifications a plus.
• Solid knowledge of managing audits, PM schedules.
• Experience with Diesel engines.
• Must have a CDL class B or the ability to acquire one with passenger and airbrake endorsement.

NOW HIRING Director of Maintenance

Location: Norcross, GA
Compensation: Competitive based on experience
Coach USA, one of the nation’s leading transportation companies is seeking a full-time Director of Maintenance in their Norcross, GA (Atlanta area) location. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the selected candidate will oversee a team of shop technicians, wash bay/facility cleaning employees, parts manager, and a fleet of 100 buses. This position may require working as a technician as needed.
Responsibilities:

• Manages the maintenance, repair, and safe operation of all commercial vehicles
• Oversees the overall upkeep of the building and property
• Purchases parts and supplies as needed for the operation
• Coordinates work schedules for technicians and cleaners
• Tracks equipment for service and preventive maintenance
• Tracks and codes invoices
• Serves as on-call for mechanical emergencies and breakdowns
• Enforces company policies and procedures
• Reviews work orders, assign tasks to employees, and verify the quality of work performed by doing quality pm and repair audits
• Schedules work to be performed based on routine preventive maintenance inspections
• Maintains a safe and productive work environment
• Troubleshoots and evaluate options to determine the best course of action
• Hires, develops, and disciplines employees
• Promotes team building and coaching skills
• Employs a strong sense of negotiation skills
• Applies analysis of projects and coordinates accordingly
• Ability to work a varied schedule including weekdays, weekends, holidays, special days, etc.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of management experience

• Working knowledge of rules & regulations under Georgia, FMCSA, US DOT, OSHA, EPA
• Moderate application knowledge of modern computer and office technology
• Working knowledge Experience in Electronic Diagnostics
• Brake repair certification or experience
• Strong ability to manage people and workplace interactions, including disciplinary procedures
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
• Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Commercial Driver’s License
• Must be able to lift 70 pounds at one time
• Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions, including outdoors
• Ability to communicate fluently in the English language
