Job Description About the Role The New York Times Events bring impactful live experiences to our audience, connecting the world's leading voices in business, politics, entertainment, arts, and culture with our exceptional journalism. As part of our dynamic NYT Events team, you will help extend the reach and influence of our brand, amplifying our journalism, and engaging our audience through meticulously curated events and summits. As the Manager of Program Management and Production, you will be an important player within the Events team, collaborating with both internal and external partners to orchestrate and accomplish intricate, matrixed projects. Your responsibilities will include overseeing project lifecycles, ensuring financial viability, and enhancing communication and operational processes.The Manager will support the Production team in developing and executing signature events like DealBook and Climate, among others, ensuring these initiatives amplify our core journalism. This role is based in New York, NY and you will report directly to the Director of Event Production and Strategy, and to the Head of Program Management & Production, NYTLive. Responsibilities: Strategic Program Oversight: Plan and execute The New York Times Events, as the liaison between our teams and external agencies to guarantee all aspects are aligned and meet project scopes. Event Execution and Innovation: Participate in event concept development, ensuring agreement on program goals and brand integrity while exploring new methods and technologies to enhance our offerings. Team member Management: Maintain communication channels with all stakeholders, balancing the demands and expectations of both internal and external partners. Operational Excellence: Oversee the logistical aspects of event planning, including timelines, budgeting, and resource allocation, ensuring projects are accomplished from start to finish. Administrative Leadership: Act as a process-driven manager, enhancing event and department operations. Manage team resources, update protocols, onboard vendors, and handle administrative tasks to support smooth event execution. Internal Event Expert: Collaborate with internal departments including finance, legal, sales, and marketing to facilitate event execution. Be a liaison, guiding multiple teams through the event lifecycle. Basic Qualifications: 5 years of experience in event production and project management, covering in-person, virtual, and hybrid events. Experience supporting large-scale events and activations, with an ability to manage creative projects within budgetary constraints. Navigate complex organizational structures, demonstrating expertise in news and events. Committed to the mission of The New York Times, with a readiness to occasionally travel. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.)
