CNM Specialist Recruitment Limited is Hiring an Estimator Near Orange Park, FL

My client is a privately owned, well-established commercial construction general contractor focusing locally on construction for Education clients. They take on projects between $100k- $20 million in Duval and Clay counties. They are looking for an Estimator with five years of experience in commercial construction and, ideally, some college construction experience to join their team. 
The Responsibilities of the Estimator Position
  • Estimate from Existing leads. 
  • Oversee all functions of project estimating for 3-10 ongoing bids.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients & Architects to establish a level of understanding of the project scope, specification and contract.
  • Solicit & Track Subcontractor/Supplier proposals.
  • Manage plans, specifications, & addendums.
  • Thoroughly evaluates bid documents for completeness, obtains additional information from the client as required, observing all stated guidelines and deadlines.
  • Attends site visits and pre-bid meetings as required to assess customer needs.
  • Manages the development of bid proposals.
  • Responsible for ensuring maximum subcontractor & vendor coverage.
  • Develops detailed scopes of work for each trade package based on bid documents.
  • Perform complex analysis of subcontractor estimates.
  • Recognize the opportunities to value engineer design drawings, Identify document conflicts and determine a strategy for bidding.
  • Manage all bid day activities.
  • Negotiate with Suppliers & Subcontractors for the best pricing.
  • Accurately completes bid forms per provided instructions.
  • Upon award, assist Project Managers in contract negotiation and final buyout of the project.
  • Develops and maintains vendor and subcontractor relationships and databases.
The Ideal Estimator will have
  • Experience in Estimating commercial construction jobs between $100k- $20 million. 
  • Have 5 years of experience Estimating on commercial construction for GCS or construction management companies.
  • Ideally, have some College construction experience. 
  • Strong organization, presentation, written, and communication skills.
  • Live near Orange Park, FL or willing to relocate. 
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritise, and manage in a fast-paced environment.
