CNM Specialist Recruitment Limited is Hiring an Estimator (Heavy Civils) Near New Rochelle, NY

My client is a well-established, well-respected medium-sized contractor active in Heavy civil projects between £200k - $15 million. They operate from New Rochelle and mainly work in Westchester county, New York. They are looking for an experienced Estimator with experience in Heavy civils projects of around £10 million to join their team. 
 
The Job responsibilities of the Estimator
Seek out bid opportunities for both public and private sectors by researching public notices/RFP’s and using developed relationships with General Contractors/Owners to work as a subcontractor
Responsible for accurately calculating the total costs associated with a construction project including labor, material, equipment, insurance/tax requirements and subcontractors/vendors required 
Evaluate bid specifications and drawings, ensuring full knowledge of contract documents to successfully bid and win projects
Prepare work to be accomplished by gathering information and requirements; setting priorities
Obtain bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials; identifying qualified subcontractors
Resolve cost discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
Perform a comprehensive bid day analysis and scope review of project with team
Prepare scope letter estimates providing our clients with a detailed scope of work, inclusions/exclusions and any specific qualifications associated with bid proposal
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
Turn over bid documents, review drawings, specifications, job cost and any areas of concerns to Project Management team 
Review project scheduling/sequencing developed during bid process with Project Management team to provide better understanding of project progression and how costs were analyzed so they can manage the project more efficiently
Offer cost saving solutions to Project Management team not incorporated into the bid
 
The ideal Estimator will: 
5 years’ experience Estimating Heavy high civils projects up between $500k-$15 million
Commutable to New Rochelle, NY 
Preferred 4-year degree in an accredited construction related curriculum, (BSCE, BSCM, BSAE, etc.) or experience equivalent to a 4-year degree. 
Demonstrated mastery in the skills of project management.
Must be able to Estimate small and large projects. 
Must have strong communication, organization and leadership skills. 
Demonstrated ability to train others and monitor their work for quality and completeness
 
The Benefits of the Estimator position: 
Salary $110-$150k depending on experience.
Reimbursement for vehicle use
401k – they put in 4% when you put in 5%
10% Bonus
Healthcare
PTO- 2 weeks’ vacation, five days sick, two personnel days and ten company days
