Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Bridges Crisis Unit Coordinator, serves as a professional performing a wide range of direct and indirect mental health services within a specific program or area of assignment to consumers with a chronic mental illness and possibly developmental disability and/or substance abuse issues. Recommends referrals to various programs, program components and other services in the community. May provide case management; facilitation of a variety of groups; outreach to consumers with multiple needs; and mental health services in a short term crisis intervention program. Responsible for detailed case documentation. Responsible for carrying out all activities of the program/sub-unit in such a manner that fulfills CMHA-CEI’s mission, policies and procedures.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field required. A minimum of one year of professional experience working with persons with mental illness required. On a case by case basis, may assess and consider an applicant with two years of paraprofessional experience working with persons with mental illness required. Experience providing psychiatric step down and hospital diversion to consumers with serious psychiatric symptoms that require more intense clinical interventions. Candidate will provide crisis intervention as needed. Must be able to operate a computer and have the ability to gain proficiency in CMHA-CEI’s computer systems including: SmartCare, MIS LIVE, and Microsoft Word. Possession of a valid Michigan driver’s license and access to reliable transportation for job related use is required.

Conditional Employment Requirements: Employment offers for this position will be contingent upon the results of a criminal background check (including fingerprinting), a physical exam, verification of an acceptable Michigan driving record. Candidate must be able to pass a physical exam annually. Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen.

Hours/Salary: $23.34 - $26.54 an hour, 40 hours a week, schedule is Monday-Friday 3pm-12am
