Clover Leaf is Hiring an Environmental Technician Near Los Alamos, NM

Clover Leaf is looking for an Environmental Technician to join our growing team in Los Alamos, NM. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in radiological operations support and seeking to establish a career in the field. The Environmental Technician will support radiological operations at the plutonium facility at TA-55. This is a full-time position based onsite in a secure area, requiring unescorted access. We are looking for candidates who can work as part of a team and individually.

Responsibilities:

  • Safety and security compliance: Ensure safety and security compliance in all tasks and stop work if unsafe conditions arise.
  • Permitting and public outreach: Provide information for permitting processes and participate in public outreach activities.
  • Prompt response: Respond to project requirements promptly and efficiently.
  • Quality assurance: Implement and develop current and new requirements and processes established in quality assurance project plan(s).
  • Record maintenance: Independently file and maintain records according to established protocols.
  • Communication: Maintain communication with facility customers, analytical laboratories, and group management.
  • Equipment operation: Independently operate equipment and conduct sampling procedures.
  • Equipment maintenance: Perform periodic inspections of equipment and conduct preventative maintenance.
  • Data analysis: Assemble, gather, enter, analyze data, and maintain records pertinent to projects.
  • Regulatory compliance: Adhere to all Laboratory and industry regulatory guidance specific to radiation protection.
  • Quality assurance: Ensure all environmental work meets quality specifications and is completed according to established requirements.
  • Inclusive work environment: Foster an inclusive work environment that is free from discrimination and harassment.

Requirements:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: 2-4 years of experience in a related field.
  • Clearance: Q/HRP clearance required, with additional authorization to access classified information.
  • Drug testing: Participation in ongoing drug and alcohol testing required.
  • DOE Orders: Must meet requirements of DOE Order 426.2, Personnel Selection, Training, and Qualification Requirements for DOE Nuclear Facilities.
  • Work location: Los Alamos National Laboratory
