Clinton Foundation is Hiring a Manager, Events & Special Projects Near New York, NY

About the Opportunity

CGI is currently seeking a New York area based Events & Special Projects Manager to provide comprehensive support in event operations, project management, and the development and maintenance of tools and processes essential for the broader CGI team to meet its annual goals and targets. As a vital member of the Events & Operations Team, this role will be instrumental in various key areas, including event management, optimizing attendee experience, facilitating inter-departmental coordination, overseeing information systems management, crafting workplans, and conducting data compilation and analysis. We are looking for candidates who are highly organized self-starters, displaying curiosity, creativity, and a strong commitment to the vision of CGI.

The Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) convenes global and emerging leaders to create and implement solutions to the world’s most pressing challenges. CGI works with partners to drive action through its unique model. Rather than directly implementing projects, CGI facilitates action by helping members connect, collaborate, and develop Commitments to Action — new, specific, and measurable plans that address global challenges. Learn more here.

Core Responsibilities

Special Projects & Data Management:

  • Lead project management tools for the Event & Operation’s team (airtable, workplans, Gantt charts, dashboards, tables, resource repositories).
  • Upkeep and design of standard operating procedure guidelines.
  • Gather and present event data and metrics in a way that provides insight on event trends to improve planning and attendee experience (attendee numbers, feedback trends, goals/deadlines, budget trends, etc.)
  • Support in updating the production schedule for the CGI annual meeting in Airtable.
  • Coordinate with other CGI Project Managers to create standardized approaches and recommend process revisions and refinements.
  • Manage Event & Operations team hub within CGI's project management platform (Airtable).
  • Collaborate on optimizing data processes and extract insights for reports.
  • Conduct research, event and operational support as needed.

Lead Event Management:

  • Lead and collaborate with the Director on digital and in person event management; coordinating all logistics for events, including timelines, deliverables, load in/load out, third-party vendors, graphics, A/V elements, rentals, staging, etc.
  • Support management of the full annual meeting event budget, collecting information from internal and external contacts, scheduling regular budget reviews, and conducting timely budget reconciliation post-events.
  • Coordinate catering and special events.
  • Lead volunteer program and information booth for the CGI Annual Meeting.
  • Oversee internal staffing plans and logistics to ensure proper staffing across roles and departments.

Minimum Qualifications

What we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • At least 6 years of professional experience in the field in positions of increasing responsibility
  • At least 1 of those years must have included either managing people or managing projects to completion
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook) required, database experience preferred
  • Ability to work in a varying schedule including nights, early mornings, weekends and holidays.

Compensation & Benefits

Our best estimate of the compensation range for this opportunity is $69 - 74K annually, depending on the experience you bring. This role is not eligible for overtime pay. This range is based on NYC market rates and may be adjusted if you will be working remotely. We look forward to discussing our compensation pricing strategy, and your expectations, throughout the interview process. Please also note, the Clinton Foundation prides itself on offering a generous benefits package at little to no cost to employees - take a look at our benefits page, so you can get a full picture of our total rewards offerings.

For nearly two decades, that premise has energized the work of the Foundation in overcoming complex challenges and improving the lives of people across the United States and around the world.

As an operating foundation, we work on issues directly or with strategic partners from the business, government, and nonprofit sectors to create economic opportunity, improve public health, and inspire civic engagement and service. Our programs are designed to make a real difference today while serving as proven models for tomorrow. The goal of every effort is to use available resources to get better results faster – at the lowest possible cost.

We firmly believe that when diverse groups of people bring resources together in the spirit of true cooperation, transformative ideas will emerge to drive life-changing action.

The Clinton Foundation is committed to public health and to the safety and wellbeing of our colleagues, visitors, and volunteers. As such, we have adopted a policy requiring all employees whose positions require them to be on site to be vaccinated against COVID-19 or to meet the legal guidelines for an exemption.
